NO, Federal Law prohibits such actions

Federal Warranty Law: The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C))

The Magnuson-Moss Act regulates that vehicle manufacturers may NOT refuse warranty repairs merely because aftermarket parts have been installed on the vehicle. The only circumstance under which the vehicle manufacturer can void the warranties is when they can prove the aftermarket part is directly responsible for (ie causes the warranty) the warranty claim.

Our upgrades do not void your factory warranty. However, Tesla is not obligated to service aftermarket parts. For example, let’s say you have our new automatic lighted handles or aftermarket lowering springs installed on your Tesla. If an issue arose, we would be the ones to warranty/service the upgraded parts, not Tesla. All of our upgrades are backed by a warranty, so you have nothing to worry about.

Your original Tesla vehicle warranty is not voided by installing aftermarket parts. We’ve installed upgrades on countless Teslas, and our customers have never had any issues at the Tesla service center regarding warranty claims. In fact, the local Tesla service centers here in Arizona admire the work we do and appreciate the quality of service we provide to customers.

No, they are not affected by software updates. Most of our upgrades simply use the 12v-16v power in the vehicle, just like installing a radio or sound system in a non-Tesla vehicle. We only have a few upgrades that connect directly to the Tesla computer system, and we’ve never had any issues with software updates affecting the functionality.

In the rare case that this ever happens, your install is warrantied and you could just bring the vehicle in and we’d take care of it.
It’s not required, but this is something you would have to decide on. Upgrades can add value to your car and make it more appealing, especially when selling to a private party. 99% of Teslas on the road look and function the same way they did from the factory, so people will appreciate that you have invested in adding new features to the car.
